I live in Birkdale of Southport – the diamond on the Merseyside Riviera! I live with my wife Lucy and we both act as staff for the Burmese Cat, Bill and to a lesser extent our Bernese Mountain Dog, Ellie.

On 25th May 2009 a new addition to the family arrived in the form of our first child, named after his Great Grandpa, Arthur Barron Fletcher. He already has us all wrapped around his little finger.

I have just completed a part time MA at Lancaster University in Developing Professional Practice (Change Management) which has proven very useful and applicable to many areas of my work as the director of a solicitor’s practice.

I am past treasurer  and a member of the Spinal Injuries Association Merseyside group  and take great satisfaction from my role as chairman of the North West Spinal Injuries Centre Patient Group.

I also sit on the house management committee of 6 Weld Rd – a home for those with spinal cord injury provided by the Spinal Unit Action Group ( SUAG).

In my spare time I keep fit via training for triathlon and handcycling. I am a keen sportsman and consider my favourite pastime – and greatest passion- skiing.

I ride a Ural Trike motorbike – please see photos in the Gallery – and am a founding member of the Birkdale Wilde~Hoggs Motorcycle Club.

I have also prepared a vegetable patch in my garden to enable me to grow my own fruit and veg, something even more important to address since becoming a vegetarian 3 years ago.
